Let's Meet & Discuss Your Vision
Your journey begins with a phone call to 407-495-8986 or a visit to our Heathrow showroom. We recognize that an entry door is a significant, highly personal investment. While many websites allow you to select basic aesthetics and check out online, an entry door involves technical details regarding functionality and installation that are often overlooked. That is why we prefer to meet with you in person to discuss every detail required for a successful, high-quality result.
During this first conversation, we learn about your home, your style preferences, your budget, and your timeline. If you visit the showroom, you will see and touch a wide range of door styles, wood species, glass options, and hardware selections. Step TWO
Design Consultation
Once you are ready to move forward, we schedule a detailed design consultation at our showroom or at your home. This is where we nail down every detail of your new door, whether you are looking for a simple, budget-conscious design or a complex custom masterpiece.
For the door itself, we discuss wood species — dense, stable hardwoods like mahogany, knotty alder, and American walnut — along with panel configuration, dimensions, and style direction. For the glass, Leslie walks you through her extensive portfolio and begins sketching concepts for your custom glass design. For hardware, we help you select handles, hinges, and our signature roller catch mechanism.
If you choose an in-home consultation, we also take precise measurements at multiple points and assess the condition of your existing frame and surrounding structure to plan the most efficient installation approach.
Step THREE
Finalization & Your Approval
After your consultation, we prepare a detailed proposal that includes your door’s complete specifications, glass design, hardware selections, finish details, and total investment. Our quotes are comprehensive and include all necessary parts to ensure your entry door project is complete and hassle-free. We review this proposal together, make any adjustments, and answer every remaining question.
You will notice that we do not provide final pricing on our website. Unlike competitors who may encourage you to commit to specifications that might not ultimately suit your needs, our goal is not to make a sale on a website — it is to create a lasting architectural impression you can be proud of for many years to come. We will only accept payment and move forward once you are completely satisfied with the finalized design and options.

Step FOUR
Crafting Your Door
This is where the magic happens. Your door is built by hand in our workshop using the materials and specifications we agreed upon. The wood is cut, shaped, assembled, and sanded to exacting standards. If your door includes custom glass, Leslie begins fabricating your panels, carefully selecting each piece and assembling using traditional lead came techniques.
Our finishing process begins once construction is complete. We hand-apply your selected stain, allowing it to penetrate deeply for rich, lasting color. After curing, we apply multiple coats of Helmsman UV-rated polyurethane, sanding between coats for a flawless finish. All six sides are coated, plus under the stops, for maximum protection.
We keep you informed throughout and are happy to share progress photos as your door comes to life.
Step FIVE
Turn-Key Installation
When your door is complete and fully cured, we schedule your installation. Unlike services that simply ship a door and leave the installation to you, we offer a specialized turnkey experience. We have the unique ability to install a new door directly into your existing door frame, eliminating the need to remove a perfectly functional frame or hire additional contractors for stucco or drywall repair.
On installation day, we take great care to protect your property by taping off floor space and cleaning the area before we begin. We work quietly and conscientiously, maintaining a spotless workspace throughout. We set all hardware, adjust hinges, install weather stripping and door fins, and verify a proper seal. Before we leave, if there is anything you or our team identifies as needing further attention, we address it immediately.
