Who we are
A Family Business Born from Craftsmanship
Entry Door Shop is the retail showroom powered by Entry Accent Company, a family business founded by John and Leslie Puik. Our story began in 1994, when John was working as a window salesman across Central Florida. Time and again, customers would ask the same question: “Can you provide entry doors to complement our new windows?” After hearing that request enough times, John decided to stop saying no and start building.
The transition into building custom entry doors was a natural one. John grew up in a household where his father ran a sheet metal shop and built houses. From a young age, he was immersed in the fabrication of metal and wood — learning how materials behave, how joints hold, how a finished piece should feel in your hands. That foundation of hands-on craftsmanship became the bedrock of every door Entry Door Shop has built since.

Around the same time the business was taking shape, as the Puiks’ youngest daughter began kindergarten, Leslie found the opportunity to channel her lifelong passion for art into the family enterprise. She began designing and building stained and leaded glass panels — and what started as a creative outlet quickly became the signature feature that sets Entry Door Shop apart from every other door company in the region. Today, Leslie’s custom art glass graces hundreds of homes across Seminole County and beyond, each piece designed and hand-fabricated in their workshop.
What started as a response to customers’ needs has grown into a dedicated entry door business that has been operating for over 30 years. Unlike large door retailers or national chains, Entry Door Shop remains a true artisan workshop. John brings decades of expertise in door construction, finishing, and installation. Leslie is a master leaded glass artist whose portfolio spans three decades of breathtaking designs. Together, they lead a team that takes personal pride in every single door that leaves the workshop.

Refined Mahogany

Antiqued Knotty Alder
A favorite for homeowners who prefer a rustic, old-world aesthetic. When stained and finished with our antiquing process, knotty alder doors evoke the charm of a European countryside estate.

One of our signature upgrades is replacing the traditional thumb-latch hardware with a heavy-duty roller catch system. The roller catch keeps your door securely closed with smoother operation and a more reliable seal against the elements — one of those details you wonder how you ever lived without.

Our signature process
A Finish Engineered for Florida
Central Florida’s climate is one of the harshest environments for exterior wood finishes anywhere in the country. Intense UV radiation, driving rain, high humidity, and temperature swings can destroy a poorly finished door in just a few years. That is why our finishing process is one of the most comprehensive in the industry.
Every door receives a hand-applied stain using premium Minwax products in warm, rich tones chosen for their depth of color and their ability to highlight the natural beauty of the wood grain. After staining, we apply Helmsman exterior UV-rated polyurethane, a marine-grade protective coating specifically engineered to withstand prolonged sun exposure without yellowing, cracking, or peeling.
The 6-Sided Difference
We polyurethane all six sides of every door and under the stops — top, bottom, front, back, and both edges. Most manufacturers only finish the visible surfaces, leaving edges exposed to moisture intrusion that causes warping, swelling, and eventual failure. Our six-sided finish eliminates this vulnerability entirely.
The result is a finish that is not only stunningly beautiful on day one but remains beautiful for years to come. And when it does eventually need refreshing, our annual refinishing service makes maintaining your door’s finish an easy and affordable process.

Perhaps the single most distinctive element of an Entry Door Shop door is the glass. While other companies offer standard glass inserts from a catalog, we have something truly special: Leslie Puik, a master leaded glass artist who has been designing and hand-fabricating custom glass panels since 1994 — the same year the business was born.
Leslie’s journey into glass art began when her youngest daughter started kindergarten, freeing up the time to channel a lifelong passion for art into the family business. What started as a creative addition quickly became the defining feature of Entry Door Shop. Today, her portfolio spans three decades and hundreds of completed projects across Central Florida.
Her process begins with a custom design consultation where she works with you to understand your aesthetic preferences, your home’s architecture, and the level of privacy you desire. From there, she creates a detailed design, selects each piece of glass by hand, and assembles the panel using traditional lead came techniques. The result is a genuine piece of art that is uniquely yours.
