Your Door Is Protected
from Day One

Our 1-year limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, and our maintenance programs keep your door looking its best for decades beyond.

Our Warranty

We Stand Behind Every Door That Carries Our Name

Every custom door from Entry Door Shop is backed by our 1-Year Limited Warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery. This warranty applies to normal residential use and provides for free repair of qualifying defects, giving you confidence that your investment is protected from day one.

Our warranty covers functional defects in parts or construction that prevent your door from working properly. If something is not right with how your door was built or how its components perform under normal use, we will make it right — whether that means repairing the issue or, at our discretion, replacing the affected component with a new or refurbished unit.

We are not a faceless corporation with a warranty claims department in another state. We are your neighbors in Heathrow, and we take personal responsibility for every door.

This warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Shipping and labor costs may apply depending on the specific situation. Please contact us at 407-495-8986 if you have any questions about your coverage or need to schedule a warranty service appointment. We are always here to help.

Care Guide

How to Care for Your Custom Entry Door

A well-maintained entry door will look beautiful and perform flawlessly for decades. Here is what we recommend to protect your investment.

Regular Cleaning

Monthly

Wipe down your door’s wood surfaces monthly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, and environmental debris. For glass panels, use a standard glass cleaner and a soft cloth. For wrought iron elements, a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth is all you need.

Inspect the Finish

Annually - Before Summer

At least once a year, ideally before intense summer sun, take a close look at your door’s finish. Check for areas where the polyurethane appears to be thinning, clouding, chalking, or peeling. Pay special attention to top and bottom edges and around glass panel seals.

Protect from Standing Water

Ongoing

Ensure your door’s threshold and surrounding concrete slope away from the door to prevent standing water at the base. Water pooling at the bottom edge is one of the primary causes of finish failure and wood damage, even on doors with our six-sided finish.

Minimize Direct Sun Exposure

Ongoing

If possible, consider shade solutions like an awning, porch roof extension, or strategically placed landscaping. Reducing direct UV exposure dramatically extends the life of your finish and reduces how often refinishing is needed. Even partial shade makes a significant difference.

The Smart Investment

Annual Refinishing Maintenance

This is the single most important thing you can do to extend the life and beauty of your entry door. If you call us to refinish your door annually, the process is quick, easy, and affordable.

We clean the door, lightly sand the existing finish, and apply a fresh coat of UV-rated polyurethane. Your door looks refreshed and fully protected for another year. Think of it like an oil change for your car: a small regular investment that prevents much larger problems down the road.

We recommend scheduling before the intense summer sun season for maximum protection during the months when UV exposure is highest.

When More Is Needed

Complete Door Restoration

If your door has gone several years without maintenance and the finish has deteriorated significantly, do not worry. We can still restore it. Our complete restoration process brings doors back from the brink, making them look and perform almost identically to new.

The cost and time involved in a full restoration is significantly more than annual maintenance, which is why we strongly encourage our clients to take advantage of our yearly refinishing service. But even a door that has been neglected for years can be brought back to life by our team.

We are always honest about which option is right for your situation. If restoration can save your door and save you money, we will tell you. If replacement is the better long-term investment, we will tell you that too.

1. Assessment Visit

We inspect your door at your home and provide an honest, detailed estimate for the restoration work needed.

2. Secure Your Entry

We install a temporary security barrier to fill your door opening, keeping your home safe while your doors are in our workshop.

3. Workshop Restoration

4. Six-Sided Finish

Multiple coats of Helmsman UV-rated polyurethane applied to all six sides including top, bottom, and both edges for complete protection.

5. Return & Rehang

Central Florida Specific

Seasonal Care Tips

Spring

Schedule your annual refinishing appointment. Clean pollen buildup from all surfaces. Inspect weather stripping for winter wear.

Summer

Maximum UV exposure season. Ensure fresh polyurethane coat is applied. Consider shade solutions. Monitor finish on south-facing doors closely.

Fall

Clear leaves and debris from threshold area. Check drainage slope. Lubricate hinges and roller catch with silicone lubricant.

Winter

Inspect door seal and weather stripping before cool season. Check for drafts. Tighten any loose screws on hinges and hardware.

Keep It Operating Smoothly

Hardware Maintenance

Your door’s hardware is engineered for years of smooth operation, but a little maintenance goes a long way. Check your hardware every six months with these simple steps.

Lubricate hinges and the roller catch mechanism with a silicone-based lubricant — never WD-40, which attracts dirt and grime over time. Tighten any screws that may have loosened from daily use. Check your weather stripping for wear, compression, or gaps, and contact us if it needs replacement.

Inspect the door sweep at the bottom for damage or gaps that could allow air, water, or insects to enter. A well-maintained door sweep is your first line of defense against the elements and is an easy, inexpensive replacement when it wears out.
